Errors & Troubleshooting

Beam Error - Involuntary Wheel Movement

If you notice the wheels of your Beam robot are shaking or rocking back and forth involuntarily, do not be alarmed. This behavior is completely normal and expected.

The Beam motor algorithm is designed to prevent Beam from uncontrollably rolling down ramps or slopes. As a result, the Beam constantly adjusts its position to maintain balance at all times. The movement may be more noticeable on uneven or non-carpeted surfaces, or when the Beam is tipped. The Beam is programmed to apply reverse torque when necessary and will continue to adjust itself to fit its environment.
