Press to Talk

From a pilot's perspective, you might notice choppy audio while maintaining a nearly flawless network connection. This is often times due to the half-duplex nature of the Beam's audio makeup; meaning, Beam cannot always simultaneously listen and talk. This limitation is amplified in open plan and noisy environments.

To remedy choppy audio on a half-duplex system (Beam Standard/Enhanced), consider employing the press to talk feature. This will allow the use of the microphone without the inconvenience of mouse clicks in addition to the feedback and delay.

Enable Mute - Press Spacebar to Talk

  1. First, mute your microphone.
  2. Then, simply press the space bar on your keyboard when you're ready to interject verbally.

Try it out! But don't forget you're muted.
